Glossary for terms used in this product's description

DIMM
Dual Inline Memory Module. Used to describe double sided (as opposed to SIMMs) memory modules. Applicable to SDRAM, DDR, DDR2 and DDR3. See below for a guide to installing your PC memory:



NON-ECC
Non-Error Correcting Code - RAM that does not self check using parity bits. Non-ECC is the norm, wheras ECC memory is often used in Servers and scirntific equipment to improve reliability.

DDR2
Double Data Rate 2 (DDR2) replaced DDR memory as a PC standard. DDR3 is now available. DDR4 is expected to be introduced by 2015.
